Services

All services offered at the Calaveras Pregnancy Center are free and confidential.

Pregnancy Test

We offer lab-quality pregnancy tests. Pregnancy tests work by detecting the presence of HCG in a urine sample. HCG is the hormone associated with pregnancy and levels increase as you progress further into your pregnancy. If you come in the office for a pregnancy test, you will be provided a pregnancy test for you to administer yourself while at the center. If your visit includes an ultrasound, the pregnancy test will be administered by an on-site registered nurse in advance of ultrasound.

Limited Ultrasound

Ultrasounds are an important next step after a positive pregnancy test. An ultrasound is an imaging procedure using sound waves that provide definitive proof of pregnancy. Limited Ultrasound determines the correct location of the baby in the uterus, measures the heartbeat, approximates the gestation age, and estimates the due date for your baby. This is a valuable tool that helps provide important information about the health and development of your baby. We have a partnership with Turlock Pregnancy and Health Center that allows us to refer you to receive an ultrasound on-site, in our offices, administered by a registered nurse.

Pregnancy and Parenting Education

In addition to providing education about pregnancy options (parent, adoption, and abortion), we offer a variety of educational resources that can help female or male clients learn about pregnancy, childbirth, child development, and parenting skills. We also offer abstinence education and adoption options. Participation in the “Learn to Earn” program allows clients to earn points/credits to use to purchase child and parenting related items in our boutique, such as maternity and baby clothes, baby furniture, and other accessories.

Resources

We can help guide you toward other local organizations and resources available in the community to help parents or expectant parents. This includes referrals for prenatal care and other services to help with pregnancy, parenting, nutrition, adoption, mental health, substance abuse, domestic violence, sexual assault, counseling as well as a number of other county resources. We can also help provide for some material needs with items such as diapers/wipes, baby/maternity clothes, and other baby-related items.

Post-abortion Support

We can provide emotional support after an abortion.  Many women feel grief or other emotions after an abortion.  Many women, and those close to them, struggle to process their feelings after an abortion- sometimes for years after. Many of them feel as if there is nowhere they can turn for post-abortion support. We seek to provide a safe, supportive, non-judgmental environment as you seek healing and help related to your past abortion. One of the ways we provide support is through an 8-week post abortion bible study that runs several times a year.
